Nayarit is the most recent coffee state to win a denomination of origin: Café Nayarit was declared in the Diario Oficial de la Federación on 3 March 2026, after Tequila and Raicilla. It protects Arabica exclusively, from four municipalities — Compostela, San Blas, Ruiz and Xalisco — which in 2024 accounted for 86% of state production, with natural, washed and honey processing all documented in the area.
